Data that stays on your device

A shop that isn’t online, including its photos and videos, is stored only in your browser on that device. In an online shop, videos over 50 MB also stay on the device that took them. Clearing your browser’s site data removes anything kept only on that device, so make backups from Settings → Data and backups.

Shop owners and their customers

When a shop stores information about its own customers, the shop decides what to collect and why. KeepInventory holds that information for the shop, and the shop is responsible for having a reason to collect it and for answering its customers’ requests. If you’re a customer of a shop that uses KeepInventory, contact that shop first. We will help them respond.

Who else handles data

We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We disclose information only if the law requires it, or to protect people or our service from harm.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Online shops are protected by database rules, so only that shop’s members can read them, and only the owner can invite people, restore earlier versions, or delete the shop. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your data, we will tell you without undue delay.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, or the EU or UK), you may have other legal rights, such as the right to know, delete, or move your data. Email us to use them. We won’t treat you differently for doing so.

Children

KeepInventory is a business tool and isn’t meant for anyone under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and tell account holders by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
